INSPIRE (Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community) Conference will be held by the host of our country next year. A meeting was held in İstanbul for the preparatory work of aforementioned conference between 7-9 October 2011. Acting General Director of Geographic Information Systems Sedat BAKICI, Acting Head of Dissemination Department Dr. Ebru ALARSLAN, Acting Head of Geographic Information Department Volkan AKKOYUNLU has participated to the meeting representing our Ministry.
INSPIRE directive aims to create a spatial data infrastructure of the European Parliament. Participation was provided by the repealed Ministry of Public Works and Settlement to the INSPIRE Conferences that the first of them held on 15-19 June 2009 in Rotterdam, the second held on 22 to 25 June 2010 in Kraków and the last conference held on 27 June to 1 July 2011 in Edinburgh/UK. The INSPIRE Conference which will be held next year İn İstanbul hosted by our country.
Key issues related to the preparatory work for the aforementioned conference were discussed at the meeting held in Istanbul with the participation of Karen FULLERTON, who is the representative of the European Union about the related issues.
