From Implementing Rules of the INSPIRE directive National Geology Standards, based on Geological Data Definition documents national standards for the geological data contacts in Turkey has been implemented by the GD of GIS. In the context of the project, all geological data that produced by the related institutions, has been transformed in accordance with the national standards.
The Geological data model contains Geologic Features with Geologic Events, Geologic Units, Geologic Structures and Geomorphologic Features.
Geology data that will be produced depending on National Geology Data Standards prepared by GD of GIS, has been enabled the realization of advanced spatial analysis allowing the investigation of different geological hazards nationwide.
In this context, following the use of hazard maps that will be produced in spatial planning, with no doubt in our country, a significant reduction in natural disasterinduced casualties and economic losses will be seen.
As a result; in the case of starting to harmonisation studies oriented of National Geology Data Standards and considering data model that consist of in the wake of in this project of institutions that produced geology and geophysics data in our country, production of repeated data for the same construction site will be prevented.
