Seminar named “National Geographic Information System Portal and Geographic Information Systems General Directorate's Vision”, which was organized by Turkey Technical Staff Association (TTSA) Map Club was held with the presentation of Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation Acting General Director of Geographic Information Systems Sedat BAKICI.
Acting General Director Sedat BAKICI said in his presentation that the aim of the General Directorate of Geographic Information Systems was, according to the interoperability principle, to determine basic policies and strategies needed for the sharing and use of geographic data and knowledge between public Institutions, Universities, Military Institutions, Local Authorities, real and legal people. Also In the seminar information was give on the subjects; functioning of Geographic Information System Portal, data production in national and international standards, metadata management, ensuring Integration of the European Union (INSPIRE Directive), to meet national requirements by planning.
At the end of their seminar named “National Geographic Information System Portal and Geographic Information Systems General Directorate's Vision”, Turkey Technical Staff Association gave their thanks to distinguished speaker of the Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning Geographical Information Systems Deputy General Director Sedat BAKICI, who informed them with his presentation and all the participants watching presentations with interest.
